Introduction to the Wilkerstat SE2026 Activity

The Statistical Work Area Mapping (Wilkerstat) activity is the initial phase in the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), aimed at updating and ensuring the accuracy of boundaries and coverage of statistical work areas at the smallest administrative level, namely the Statistical Area Unit (SLS). This activity includes verifying and validating the existence of SLS, identifying any splits or mergers of areas, and collecting related geospatial and attribute information. The results of the Wilkerstat mapping will serve as the foundation for preparing SE2026 fieldwork documents, ensuring that the census can be conducted effectively, efficiently, and accurately in accordance with current field conditions.
