Development of Consumer Price Index/Inflation in Makassar Municipality in April 2025

Abstract

In April 2025, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Makassar Municipality was 2.33 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.04.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.91 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.61 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.78 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 1.64 percent; health group by 2.23 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.5 percent; education group by 0.93 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 4.53 percent; and personal care and other services group by 10.57 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Makassar Municipality in April 2025 was 1.91 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Makassar Municipality in April 2025 was 2.28 percent.
